Ayoze de Alejandro Lopez is a Gran Canaria-born World Music drummer/percussionist based in London who has collaborated in different shows with international composers, choreographers, and performers like Baqir Abbas, Yelfris Valdes, Abel Selacoe, Will Tuckett, Soumik Datta, Orphy Robinson, Kan Yama Kan Theatrical Play, Ernesto Hermosa(Susana Vaca), Paul Clark, Jean Pierre Magnet, Maya Youseff, Nani Noam Vazana, Kadialy Kouyate, The Turbans band, etc.
Playing in many venues and festivals like Ronnie Scott’s Jazz London, Riyadh Season 2022, Jerusalem Jazz Festival, Festival Flamenco y Punto Lima-Peru, Mondriaan Jazz Festival Holland, Manchester Jazz Festival, Pizza Express Live London, Live show on BBC Radio 3, Ta Blue Festival India, Glastonbury Festival U.K., Jazz Cafe London, Winter at Tantora Festival Al-Ula, Colour Of Ostrava Czech Republic, etc.
Ayoze started his musical journey 29 years ago when he bought his first drumkit at the age of 14. Knowing about people’s musical culture and spirituality is a path that took him to many places.
In London, Ayoze de Alejandro took a B.A. at London College of Music.
In Seville, he took lessons from the master Flamenco cajon player Ramon Porrina (Piraña’s older brother).
In Peru, Chincha, Ayoze studied with some of the great ambassadors of the Afro-Peruvian cajon such as Freddy "Huevito" Lobaton, Marquitos Mosquera, Ballumbrosio Family and the dancer Antonio Vilchez.
In Cuba, Ayoze studied Afro-Cuban drums with the old master Julito Guerra, Javier Campos Martinez and with the legendary Afro Cuba de Matanzas and Muñequitos de Matanzas.
